While many plans are circulating about how (or if) schools will reopen in the fall, local leaders should develop and implement action plans now to protect students’ learning and provide for the safe delivery of learning.

Facts

Illinois’ students are all unique – physically, emotionally, and academically – and need the ability to receive the best education this fall. The necessity for schools to provide a diversity of learning pathways throughout the 2020-2021 school year will be critical.

One key option that must be available is allowing all students who want to return, the opportunity to return to school full-time in a safe manner.
