"Ballot Issue 7G" -- September 13, 2018
"UDFCD officials say the proposed tax boost would significantly expand the district’s work. It performs watershed planning and flood-mapping studies, runs flood-warning programs, and coordinates with local partners on construction and maintenance projects along the South Platte River and other waterways.
The UDFCD also contributes money toward projects that often result in new trails and open space. And it provides expertise when cities such as Denver pay the tab for larger drainage projects.
Among dozens of examples, the district’s work can be seen in several improved areas along the Platte, in the daylighting of a drainageway near Wadsworth Boulevard and Colfax Avenue, and in a drainage-improvement project near the Westminster G-Line station. The latter project removed 100 homes from the floodplain, said Adams County Commissioner Charles “Chaz” Tedesco."

Issue 7G
Yes
Due to the Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights, the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District (UDFCD), which covers several counties, including parts of Boulder County, has lost 44 percent of its funding — a deferment of $280 million — since 1992. The UDFCD partners with counties and cities to design and construct flood control and warning systems. The UDFCD is requesting a property tax increase (up to $1.97 on $100,000 annually) to do their necessary work. Vote yes."
